Prahova Valley Romania is situated in the south of the carpatic chain having a surface of 4716 sq km and a population over 830000 inhabitants. It has 2 municipalities, 12 cities and 86 communes with 405 villages and parallel 45 and meridian 26 cross it. The relief is various: from mountains with heights over 1500 m (Omu top - 2505 m) in the northern part of the county 26.2%, hills in the medial side 36,5% and plains in the southern part 37.3%. The climate is temperate continental with annual average temperature situated between -2C at great altitudes and 10C in the plains. The average of the precipitations is 550 ml/sq m in the plain and 1300 ml/ sq m in the mountains.The hydrographic network is mainly formed by the rivers Prahova, Telejen, Doftana, Cricovul Sarat and two lakes of accumulation: Maneciu and Paltinu. The vegetation is different according to the steps of relief and the faun is various as number of species: bears, deers, roes, wolves, wild boars, lynxes, chamois etc. The first refinery in the world was built in Prahova in 1857 - Mehedinteanu refinery.

Prahova Valley Romania is located in the south-east of Romania, Muntenia middle, upper and middle basin of the river Prahova and Ialomita part of the basin. It is bordered on the south-Ilfov, Ialomita, Dambovita in western, north-Brasov-Buzau east (Bucegi Mountains) and has an area: 4716 km2 (equivalent to 2% of the country). Refieful varied in equal proportions contains mountains, hills and plains. Prahova Valley has its point of origin in Piatra Mare, forming between Campina and Predeal one of the most impressive gorges in Romania, which is accentuated by steep rocky Bucegi, with a level difference from the Prahova Valley Bucegi and 1000 m. National Park meets alpine climate with average annual tamperaturi in 2C, and precipitation is scarce. Winter snow may even reach 130 cm thick, as well as there may be total lack of snow
